Katy Peterson spent over two years as the Head Volleyball Coach at the University of North Dakota. She came from MSU-Moorhead as the top assistant volleyball coach. At UND, the Sioux were ranked as high as second in the premiere NCC conference. Peterson coached Five All-Conference Players and led the team in defeating several top ranked opponents. MSU-Moorhead reached National Top 25 rankings, three Freshman Player of the Year honors, one All-American, and several all-conference selections. On the court, Peterson earned All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference honors at Augustana College (Sioux Falls, SD. She and Sister Kari led their team to the Elite Eight in 2000 where both were selected to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
CAMP DIRECTOR: Kari Peterson
Kari Peterson, spent three years at the University of North Dakota as both associate head coach and head coach, set several single season records while tying the record for most wins in a season in UND’s Volleyball history. Kari was a two time All-American, led the nation in assists, and was selected the 2000 NCAA Division II National Player of the Year. She was formerly the top assistant at the University of North Alabama, a program that won the Division II National Championship in 2003. Peterson also received coaching experience at Texas a&M Kingsville, Valley City State, and Minnesota State University Moorhead. In Peterson’s first season, VCSU recorded its highest conference finish since 2000. The Vikings received Freshman Player of the Year honors along with two all-conference selections.
Camp Director: Amanda Neubauer
Amanda Neubauer, is back with the UND volleyball program after serving as the assistant coach for Minnesota, Crookston in 2006. A 2003 graduate of Wichita State, Neubauer served as the volleyball graduate assistant in 2004 and 2005 while working towards a master's degree at UND. Prior to her move to North Dakota, she was at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., where she played and then later became an assistant coach and an academic advisor. She also assisted in the organization of high school summer volleyball leagues at Butler CC.
Camp Director: Susan Kolbow
Sue was a major contributor to the Dragon volleyball success story as a four-year fixture in the MSU Moorhead lineup, she begins her fourth season as assistant coach at MSUM. She began her coaching career for the dragons ead in 2005.A co-captain of the 2004 Dragons, Kolbow starting setter and defensive specialist during her collegiate career at MSUM. A four-year letterwinner, Kolbow ranks eighth with 1,061 career assists at MSU Moorhead. She helped the Dragons advance to the NCAA Division II North Central Regional tournament as a senior. Kolbow graduated from Forest Lake High School in 2001 and was elected volleyball and softball captain. She was a two-time All-Twin Cities Suburban East Conference volleyball choice and was voted the Rangers’ MVP as a junior and senior.
